Here's a random reminder to spoil your little kitty! Oh, but you may want to do the last one with caution!

We all know that cats can be a bit… masungit at times. They’re mostly known to make us work for every little bit of affection and often mess with our belongings. They’re not even crazy about our gifts at mas prefer nila ‘yung mga cardboard boxes! But that doesn’t mean we won’t be spoiling them rotten. All fur babies deserve to be loved and spoiled, and that includes our fluffy, sassy little meow meows. So! Without further ado, here are a few things you can do to give your little kitty some well-deserved TLC!

Give them the best treats.

This one’s kind of a given, but there’s more to this act than just spoiling your kitty and actually feeding them.

Giving treats is a great way to bond with them. Plus, cats may not be as domesticated as dogs so they can’t be trained or taught as much, but it’s still necessary to teach them to behave paw-sitively, and treats are excellent at that.

There are tons of treats that you can give to your favorite purry feline, but if you want something convenient that can easily become their favorite, you might want to check out wet treats like TEMPTATIONS’ new Creamy Purrrr-ée as they are quickly growing in popularity! This latest offering from TEMPTATIONS, which comes in Chicken and Tuna and Salmon and Cheese, is an irresistibly creamy treat that is easy to serve. It can be fed by hand for a playful bonding experience, in a bowl for a chill snack time, or as a cat food topper to make their mealtime more fun.

A quick reminder, though: please be careful when spoiliing them with treats. While there are no rules about how often you can dole them out and how much you can give them, keep in mind that cats are small, so unlike big dogs, they don’t need a mountain of food and it can be easy to overfeed them if you’re adding treats to their regular diets.

Keep them entertained.

Indoor cats are all for chill afternoons staring into nothing and lots of siyésta time, but they can still get bored quickly since they always stay within four walls day in and day out. To keep your cat from getting bored, it’s important to nurture an environment full of activities. Give them interactive toys, let them enjoy the window view by creating a special spot for them to look outside, allow them to jump high up, and most importantly, play games with your cat. Play sessions don’t need to be too long and extremely tiring on your part; twice or thrice daily of a 15-minute activity that can trigger their instincts to pounce and jump is enough.

It also won’t hurt to let them explore the outside world and indulge their curiosity about nature every once in a while; wag mo lang kalimutan to train them to walk on a leash first to get them used to wearing a harness. You don’t want them running off to places you don’t know, going MIA for a while for who knows how long, and bringing back unexpected (and sus) gifts for you. Also, the goal is for them to realize that putting on the harness means going outside.

Kung medyo alangan ka pa rin na pagalain sila beyond the walls of your home, you can try setting up a catio or an enclosed outdoor space complete with scratching posts, toys and a couple of napping spots made especially for them to play in and chill out safely and comfortably.

Put them on a royalty-like diet.

Years ago, cats were held in high regard, dressed in jewels, and fed treats fit for royalty. So, what’s stopping you from doing that? Well, maybe not the jewelry part, but the feeding them like a royal! I mean, what else could make a cat – or anyone, really – feel so freaking loved other than being fed good stuff, right? Though again, you must do this in moderation and you must do it correctly! Luckily, IAMS is here to help. The American pet food brand offers a way to help cat owners get a tailored diet recommendation on their website. Owners just need to check out IAMS’ official Cat Food quiz on their website and provide the necessary information about the lucky feline, including age and special dietary needs, and voilà, you’ll find the IAMS products perfect for your kitty.

Give them a little more affection and attention, but don’t forget to let them be.

Most cats prefer enjoying time to themselves, but that doesn’t mean they don’t want your attention. Yes, they are lonely hunters by nature, are used to taking care of themselves, and like to play it cool, but they’re your baby. Cats don’t need a ton of stuff to be spoiled; minsan, a little more TLC and added affection from you lang, sapat na. So, don’t hold back from giving them special attention. Let them cuddle in your lap, leave a space on your bed for them to sleep in at night, pick them up and kiss them before you step out of the house, and verbally tell them you love them with all your heart.

Again, remember not to overdo it. ‘Wag masyadong mawili! They’re cats. They’re sassy, intelligent, and independent, and they think they’re the boss (kahit na for us, they are and will always be our little baby), so if you don’t want to be sassified, give them space when needed or you’ll face the wrath of a grumpy cat.

Before you do any of this, check in on your cat first. Not all cats are the same – some are clingy, some are not, and some are just as stubborn as their owner. So, don’t forget to think through whether they’ll enjoy any of this ba talaga. You, as their owner, should know better. They may not be able to speak, but their attitude and reaction can speak volumes, so pay attention and good luck with getting scratched!
