Are you staying in this weekend to celebrate Valentine's Day safely or to have more privacy? We can't blame you, really, but if you're struggling to find something to make the occasion more memorable, we have good news! Here are some of the absolute best things to do with your lover for an unforgettable Valentine's Day at home!
Challenge your SO to a duel
Sounds strange, right? But this can be one of the highlights of your weekend. Tap into your competitive spirit and pull out the best two-player board, boardless, or card games you've got! Think of the traditional Scrabble or chess, the challenging Jenga, some old but gold Mastermind, or maybe even Sungka! Pero if you both are not a fan of that and are into something more ~physical~ (Shush your mind, friend! Masyado pang maaga for that!), whip out those Nerf guns and go in for a surprise attack! Let loose! A little friendly competition can get you riled up for all good and wholesome reasons, like creating a better relationship or having a good laugh! Oh, and don't hold back on betting on something or establishing punishments and consequences for whoever loses to really keep it competitive and to spice things up na rin (like, for later, at night -- an idea that you definitely did not hear from us).
Keep up the fun with a different game
Take the challenge up a notch! Break out a fun game with a deck of conversation starters or two revolving around the right questions (and the unexpected ones) to push the both of you to take a stroll down memory lane. You can also try a different deck that's all about hidden truths, crazy dares, and pleasant surprises (know what I mean 😉) to get the fun going. Siguradong hindi kayo mauubusan ng kwento at tawanan when it starts to get you guys to reminisce moments you've shared, learn about new things and information you've once spared, and think about the endless possibilities – unconsciously building a stronger bond! You can go all out for this one with this wild option online!
Grab the chance to prepare a shala dinner date or an indoor picnic you will both be proud of
Get all the sheets you can grab, free your living room of clutter, prop some dining chairs here and there and try to build the most epic blanket fort you can together – there's no better time to channel your inner child and be silly together than Valentine's Day! Also, staying indoors to celebrate the occasion doesn't have to be boring and typical, so be creative -- pack up a picnic, pop a nice bottle of bubbles or spirits, and bring out a cheese and charcuterie board. The best thing about this is walang bugs and annoying insects that will make you feel icky, and wala rin pati yung irritating feeling ng grass against one's skin, so enjoy it, and enjoy it while it lasts!
If picnics are not your thing, you can always stick to a romantic dinner set-up at home with a twist of your own. Maybe set up a homemade bar on a trolley with the art of tablescaping in mind, place a preserved sunflower in a glass dome in the middle of the table, or pick the fanciest looking candleholder and tableware na pasok sa budget mo para sa mas pinasoysal and intimate na homemade dinner date! To top it all off, keep the wine on the menu but get rid of the hassle of opening one with an electric bottle wine opener.
End the day pampering each other and getting comfortable
I know you have plans in mind on how to end your at-home date (IYKWIM 🤫), but before the day comes to a close, why not get in your comfiest bathrobe or PJs for some cutesy skincare bonding? Squeeze it in on your agenda; I swear it'll be worth it! I mean, c'mon, the both of you being adorable, doing some skincare routine together with good finds online (like these overnight and nourishment sets from FACE REPUBLIC), and taking care of each other's body in an exhilarating bath-- you get the picture. It's cute. It's hot. Definitely the best way to get ready for some serious coziness in bed and end the day, amirite?
Tuck in together
Unfortunately, all the fun will eventually sizzle down, but it doesn't have to be a one-time thing. All these ideas that we've listed may be perfect for a me-time with your SO on Valentine's Day, but if you ever enjoy it more than you thought you would, why not make any other day special and repeat some of these suggestions every now and then? Go on picnic dates when you can. Stick to a skincare routine that works for the two of you. Get into the habit of opening up your hearts and minds to each other, with or without a deck of cards. Celebrate love every day, not just on Valentine's Day, and watch as you grow together as a couple (and listen to all the singles around you bid "SANA ALL"). Happy Valentine's Day, lovers! x

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
