#Shop2GiveTogether: Lazada and Unilever’s 5th Year of Bridging Filipino Youth to a Brighter Future
Shopping is caring with Lazada and Unilever's #Shop2GiveTogether Super Brand Day Sale
The COVID-19 pandemic has posed unprecedented challenges globally, with education being one of the most severely impacted sectors. According to UNICEF, the Philippines’ out-of-school youth rate has been increasing, with over 2.8 million children missing out on educational opportunities. In response, Unilever Philippines and Lazada re-joined forces and collaborated with Shoppertainment LIVE in their fifth year of the Shop2Give campaign, entitled "Shop2Give Together," which made it possible for shoppers to buy their favorite Unilever products while also donating to UNICEF Philippines' education programs.
What is the Shop2Give Campaign?
Unilever is a multinational company that sells consumer goods such as food, beverages, household essentials, and personal care items. They started the Shop2Give campaign in 2018 when disasters affected many Filipinos. To spark hope and provide information on how to deal with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the campaign was relaunched in 2020. It is consistent with their mission to provide for basic human necessities while fostering societal and environmental change.
Through UNICEF Philippines' educational programs, 102,000 children received financial support from the "Shop2Give Care" campaign last year. With an emphasis on the most disadvantaged areas, it provided learning materials and support for the youth to carry out home-based development and educational activities. It has also aided UNICEF's Alternative Learning System (ALS) education programs, a parallel learning system that provides other viable pathways to basic education for people who lack or are unable to access formal education. Additionally, the sale helped 3,000 households that are part of the Gawad Kalinga Brgy. Walang Iwanan Program.
Turning your online shopping experience into a sharing experience
More consumers nowadays say they prefer online shopping to traditional shopping because of its advantages. Purchasing services and goods online is a relatively simple process that has become an essential part of every Filipino’s life. Through modern technology and the power of the internet, live stream shopping is immensely alive and kicking as individuals can easily shop for items they want and need daily while simply relaxing in the comfort of their homes or even at the office while taking a well-deserved break.
With the rise of Livestream shopping, Unilever went live on Lazada and partnered with Shoppertainment LIVE, the Philippines’ first full-production live streaming agency, to host its Shop2Give Together initiative last July 18. The event was presented by Geli Cruz, a lifestyle streamer, and Ken Li from Shoppertainment LIVE’s talent pool called “influen-sales”. The duo has proven their chemistry in hosting by successfully grabbing viewers’ attention and engaging with them. They also got to share their personal stories about their favorite Unilever products in a fun manner which encouraged customers to add items to their carts and complete checkouts.
For the entertainment part, there was a game called "Let's Get Ready to Jumble," in which viewers had to guess the correct words displayed on the screen. The winner received 1,000 U-COINS, which can be exchanged for real-life prizes such as loads and vouchers.
Develop an affordable lifestyle while changing people's lives

They also offered Unilever foods like Knorr, Best Foods, Lady's Choice, and Lipton as well as Breeze, Comfort, CIF, Domex, and Surf for Unilever homecare essentials.
Viewers were treated to all-day discounts of up to 50% off, free shipping with no minimum spend, exclusive freebies with every purchase, limited-time discount voucher drops, and an exclusive Shop2Give Bundle for only PHP 399. The shoppers were able to take advantage of these significant savings because the sale of selected Unilever products lasted until July 20.
