Surf Partners Up with Filipina Home-based Moms for Surf Wais University
Through an entrepreneurship program developed together with online community FHMoms, the country’s leading laundry brand aims to help wais moms start their own business
Recognizing the hustle and ‘wais-ness’ of Filipino mothers, Surf introduced the first-ever Surf Wais University, or simply Wais U, a free entrepreneurial program designed to empower aspiring mompreneurs to start their own business. To reach more moms and teach them how to be part of the Team Wais community, Surf went live with Wais U graduates and FHMoms members Ruf Valera and Anjanette Balgos who both shared their experiences as well as the benefits of the program.
How to Be a Team Wais Mom
In just a few easy steps, moms can start their entrepreneurship journey with the help of Surf Wais U Program which is divided into three parts: Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Understanding Your Business, and Business Tips and Strategies.
To officially begin their Team Wais journey, moms must sign up by filling out a registration form and wait for the email confirmation. Once they receive a confirmation containing a link to a Facebook event page, they need to attend a four-hour live training session on the FHMoms Facebook page or YouTube channel by clicking the “Going” button. There are also free downloadable templates, checklist, and worksheet that moms can use throughout the program. After the training, they need to take an assessment exam to complete their course and receive their Wais U certificate. They will then be invited to join the alumni group on Facebook where they can meet their fellow Wais U students and receive further training, opportunities, and other exclusive privileges from Surf.
Aside from providing a clear guide to joining the Team Wais community, the livestream also offered viewers up to 20% discount on Surf items and Php50 off for every purchase worth Php699 while Team Wais members enjoyed Php100 off for every Php699 spend. Those who purchased Php899 worth of Surf products earned raffle entries to Team Wais Washing Machine promo where they could win one of four washing machines along with a free Surf Wais U notebook and notepad. As proceeds for the day would help fund the small businesses of the Team Wais Mom community, mompreneurs got to support each other through their Surf purchases.
